On Tuesday, March 11th, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office responded to a report of discharge of firearms in the 700 block of Barren Springs. Patrol units in-servicing the area located a deceased victim lying along the roadway. The victim was a 40-year-old black male. Witnesses reported hearing a disturbance and gunfire with vehicles speeding from the area following the shooting. Around the same time as the shooting, a second victim arrived at an area hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Detectives determined this injured victim, a 22-year-old black male, was related to the original scene on Barren Springs. Detectives are in the process of trying to determine the circumstances which led to the shooting, but it appears to be drug related. At this time, no charges have been filed in this case. The identity of the deceased victim is not being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
