A cold front is expected to approach SE Texas on Sunday, eventually stalling north of the Houston metropolitan area. High moisture levels ahead of the approaching front will prove favorable for the development of precipitation on Sunday, with showers beginning as early as the late morning. Scattered thunderstorms will develop later in the afternoon, persisting into the evening. A few storms may become strong to severe, with the primary threats being wind and hail. The greatest chance for severe storms will generally be focused along a line from College Station to Livingston and areas north.
