Friday evening just before 5 p.m., a group of five black males entered the Jewelry Source Jewelry Store on FM 1960 West. Heavily armed, they forced employees to a corner and began smashing jewelry cases, taking off in a blue Chrysler with a large, but undetermined amount of jewelry. Police say it is the same vehicle was used in the robbery of a Texaco station on Richey Road last  Thursday.
A short time later, deputies found the vehicle abandoned off Nanes Drive, which happens to be the same road where the body was found last Thursday. A witness told police they entered a red Buick and fled the area. There were no injuries.
The earlier jewelry store robbery on FM 1960 West, this one at Champions Forest, is believed to have been performed by the same suspects. In that incident, the group entered the store just after 9 a.m. with hammers, shattering the cases and stealing jewelry estimated to be valued in the 6 digits.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
