Something REALLY Scary – Did you know?

Montgomery County, Texas has 1,077 Registered Sex Offenders

When did you last check the Texas Sex Offender Registry? For those who don’t know, it’s a free online search through the Texas Department of Public Safety. You don’t have to register or provide any information, and the predator(s) will never know you saw their info. Each registered sex offender’s listing will include the photos they’ve been required to provide since they became part of the registry, their risk level, length of time required to be registered, current age, address, the charge or charges, the date of the conviction, the age of the victim(s), along with the predator’s ethnicity, height, weight, hair color, eye color, and even their shoe size.

The Registry is searchable by a predator (or suspected predator) name. It’s searchable by address, meaning you can enter your address and see who and where registered offenders live in an area. It’s also searchable by zip code, college or university, or even an entire county.

With more child predators identified every day, it’s important to know who’s in your area – especially if you have children. Don’t live with the regret of wishing you’d known. Not all monsters look monstrous.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The numbers of predators are likely MUCH higher. These only reflect those who were caught and successfully prosecuted. Thank God for the law enforcement officers willing to look at the most disturbing images and behaviors a person cannot unsee, and to sometimes pose as predators or victims, in order to make our communities safer. Remember them in your prayers too – they’re on the frontlines of a war being fought right here at home.
