An accident was reported just after 7:30pm Saturday. A mini-van was southbound on US 59 just crossing FM 2090 when the left rear tire tread separated. The driver lost control of the vehicle veering to the right and striking the concrete wall and eventually flipping.
The driver was seat belted in and received serious injuries. Her passenger and a small child were both ejected from the vehicle causing serious injuries to both.
Splendora Fire was dispatched to the scene from a structure fire at Williamson and FM2090. MCHD and Splendora Police also responded.
It was difficult to get to the scene. Williams Brothers Construction who are charged with building US 59 have the southbound FM2090 and Creekwood exit ramps closed. Crews had to go top Fostoria Road before they were able to get on the freeway. Others used a dirt roar running alongside the one lane service road on 59.
