About 3:15pm Friday a Splendora ISD school bus was dropping children off on Midline Road near Warner Road.THe driver activated the lights and an boy and his 11-year-old sister exited the bus. The children lived across the street. The boy went around the front of the bus and crossed. For unknown reasons the girl went to the rear of the bus. When the driver deactivated her lights, a truck coming from the opposite direction started past the bus slowly. Just then the young girl darted out from behind the bus and into the path of the truck. She was struck and thrown into another vehicle that was stopped behind the bus. The child was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital in stable condition. The crash was investigated by DPS. No citations were issued.
Just after this crash another Splendora bus was involved in a very minor accident with a mail truck at Memorial and First.
