January 25, 2010 was a day to remember for Jamie Becerra. Jamie was driving down Hill and Dale Drive in Splendora. Clayton Wade Adams, age 27 of the 27600 block of Midline Drive crossed the center line striking Becerra’s vehicle. Both Bacerra and Adams were transported to Kingwood Hospital by MCHD. Several pill bottles and pills were scattered within Adams vehicle.
It was there that Adams consented to a blood draw. His blood sample came back as positive for hydrocodine and soma.
Friday, Adams plead guilty in the 410th District Court and was sentenced to 3 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Dave Ward was the prosecutor on the case.
Adams did have a prior record including Driving While Intoxicated on December 28, 2006 in which he received 180 days probation in Montgomery County Court at Law 4. However, on August 29, 2009 the probation was revoked and he was given sixty days in the Montgomery County Jail and a fine of $500.
Just nine months prior to that on March 18, 2006 he was also arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and was given three days in jail and a $100 fine in County Court at Law 4.
The accident wasn’t enough for him. On March 14, 2010 just 48 days after the crash he was arrested by Sour Lake Police off Highway 105 in Hardin County for Possession of A Controlled Substance. For this he was given 18 months probation and a $1500 fine.
