SPLENDORA FATAL ACCIDENT

Traffic on northbound US59 over East River was closed for several hours after a 6:55am accident.
Louisa Silva age 30 had left Houston and enroute back to Illinois when, according to her mother 51-year-old Lilly Silva, who was in the passenger seat had a blow out. The Ford Explorer struck the right side concrete barrier, rolled onto it’s side. It then slid a short distance where it rolled onto it’s roof.
In the back asleep were her four children, 13-year-old boy, 3-year-old boy. Also Her 7and 4-year-old daughter.
There were no seat belts worn in the vehicle when Splendora Fire Department arrived withing seconds of the first dispatch. CPR on Louisa was starter immediately and continued to Memoril Hermann-Woodlands.
Form there she was Lifeflighted to Hermann Hospital in the Houston Medical Center.
Lilly Silva was transported to Kingwood with a head injury and the four children were released to their father and were uninjured.
Trooper Martin reminded drivers that starting Tuesday citations will be issued for anyone in a vehicle not wearing a seatbelt, This includes front and rear passengers.
Also children under 8-years-old are required to be in a child safety seat.
