SPLENDORA PD CAPTURES 4 THIEVES WANTED IN LIBERTY COUNTY

An attempt to locate call came in from Liberty County in reference to a stolen vehicle that was headed Southbound on US Highway 59. Chief Wieghat and his night shift Officers with the City of Splendora Police Department located the vehicle inside the city limits of Splendora and initiated a traffic stop. A roadside investigation was conducted involving the two males and two females who were the occupants of the vehicle. It was determined that a burglary had occurred at a lawn and garden business in Livingston, Texas. Over forty thousand dollars in equipment, including two zero-turn mowers, a commercial stand mower, two pressure washers, and a trailer had been stolen from this location. The truck was determined to be stolen out of Channelview. The driver, Joseph Martinez, was arrested for Third Degree Felony Theft, as well as Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. The other three occupants, Jason Kramer, Priscilla Hopkins, and Jessica Evans were arrested for Third Degree Felony Theft. All Four suspects were transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
