As police were working the crash on I-69 near SH 242 another crash was reported southbound about one-half mile north between FM 2090 and Creekwood. Several units responded and found a three-vehicle crash in the center lane of the freeway. With heavy traffic a truck driver, driving a bobtail truck for Tibco Logistics of Spring, Texas, admitted to police he had looked down at his phone. When he looked up he was slamming into a Chevrolet Tahoe. That crash pushed the Tahoe into a Ford SUV. The mother and son of the Ford were uninjured. However, the child and driver of the Tahoe were transported to Kingwood in stable condition. The truck driver suffered a gash on his head. Splendora Police noticed signs of intoxication and realized the truck had never even applied the brakes. The driver failed a field sobriety test and was transported to Kingwood Hospital for medical clearance before being transported to the Montgomery County Jail where he will be booked for AGGRAVATED ASSAUT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON/ INTOXICATED involving a crash. Only a right shoulder was open and many decided to take the exit ramp, just to be stuck longer at the Creekwood stop sign.
