SPLENDORA POLICE DEPARTMENT CHIEF OF POLICE AND ENTIRE COMMAND STAFF TO RECEIVE AGENCY FBI/LEEDA TRILOGY AWARD

Wednesday morning, The City of Splendora Police

Department Chief Wieghat, and his entire command staff, Captain Hadrych,

Lieutenant Teller and Lieutenant Denzler, all received the rare and

prestigious AGENCY FBI/ LEEDA TRILOGY AWARD. The Award was

presented by FBI-LEEDA Manager Frank Woodall from the Houston office of

the FBI. The Award is given to police agencies in which all of the top

Command Staff has successfully passed all three core education programs

that provide the latest intensive instruction in management concepts and

practices faced by today’s law enforcement professionals. Local media has

been invited.

Splendora is the first Agency in SouthEast Texas to accomplish this honor, as well as

only the Second Agency in the State of Texas. Within the Splendora Police

Department, Chief Wieghat encourages and supports professional

development so that each officer brings new ideas, technology, and the best

practices in law enforcement to the organization, setting us apart on a higher

level within the law enforcement profession.

To earn the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy award Chief Wieghat, Captain

Hadrych, Lieutenant Teller, and Lieutenant Denzler had to successfully

complete advanced training through the FBI-LEEDA Supervisor Institute,

Command Leadership Institute, and Executive Leadership Institute. Topics

covered in the training include leadership case studies, performance, and risk

management, command discipline and liability, bias and diversity, social and

emotional intelligence, and public trust. Each of the three modules consists of a

week of instruction, with intensive and immersive programs designed for law

enforcement supervisors.

The mission of FBI-LEEDA is to advance the science and art of law

enforcement, leadership, and promote the exchange of information to improve

law enforcement management practices through training, education, and

networking among police professionals. FBI–LEEDA is a nonprofit with the

majority of members being Chief Executive Officers of Law Enforcement

Agencies, Directors, and Commissioners of Public Safety, and elected Sheriffs

throughout the U.S. and several foreign countries.
