On January 7, 2019, Splendora Police Officers were conducting neighborhood patrols back in Deerbrook Estates, when the officer observed a black in color Volkswagen Jetta bearing a fictitious license plate traveling Westbound on Deerbrook Dr. When the officer went to turn around on the vehicle to conduct a traffic stop, the driver failed to stop at the posted stop sign. The officer also observed an object thrown from the vehicle. Once the vehicle was stopped and the occupants were detained for investigative purposes, the officer learned the vehicle was stolen. The officer conducted an inventory of the vehicle and located a weapon which also came back stolen. Upon returning to the area which the object was thrown and located a bag of methamphetamine. The passenger was taken into custody for multiple felony charges.
