After midnight Splendora Police Officer Ryan Simpson observed a vehicle almost run into another vehicle of the US 59 feeder near FM 2090. The driver then ran into the Chevron station. Driving up to the pump Simpson observed him as he washed his windshield but did not fuel up.
The driver then jumped into the vehicle, cut across the feeder and into the u-turn lane under US 59. Within seconds he was up to almost 80 mph on the freeway.
Officer Simpson activated his emergency lights the the vehicle refused to stop.
As they approached FM 1485 Montgomery County Sheriff’s units and Precinct 4 Constable units were waiting with lights going just ahead.
The driver continued past FM 1485 and finally pulled over at Community Drive and was taken into custody.
Scott Randall, age 25, of Trails End Road in Cleveland was arrested for evading arrest and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
