SPLENDORA SHOOTING UPDATE-SEARCH FOR SUSPECT

On June 19, 2019, at about 8:30 pm, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 27000 block of Midland Street in Splendora in response to a shooting. Upon arrival, the Deputies located a 44-year-old white male victim with a gunshot wound to the chest area. EMS personnel arrived shortly thereafter and transported the victim to Conroe Regional Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery and is expected to survive.
Detectives with the Homicide and Violent Crime unit of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were also dispatched to investigate the incident. Early findings indicated that the shooting stemmed from a vehicle accident between a white Chevy Tahoe, and a silver Nissan SUV. Witnesses stated that immediately after the accident, the Tahoe’s driver got out of the vehicle, and began shooting at the victim who was driving the Nissan. It is believed that the suspect, identified by several witnesses as Belton Presswood a 38-year-old white male from Conroe, is the ex-boyfriend of a woman that was a passenger in the victim’s Nissan. Following the shooting, Belton was seen fleeing the area in the white Tahoe, in an unknown direction of travel. A warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (a 2nd-degree felony) has been issued for Belton Presswood, with a $75,000.00 dollar bond.
Anyone with information on Belton Presswood’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-760-5800, or Crime Stoppers at 800-392-STOP (7867), and reference case #19A197114.
