STOLEN AIR CONDITIONER RECOVERED

NEW CANEY – The Pct. 4 Constable’s Office arrested an East Montgomery County man over the weekend for attempting to sell a stolen air condition unit.

Christopher Wayne Taibi, 38, who lives at 23602 FM 1485 E. #32 (Bill’s 3 G’s) New Caney, is charged with Theft of property $1,500 to $20,000. Bond was set at $1,500.

The Pct. 4 Constable’s Office received information that a white male attempted to sell an air condition unit to a patron outside a New Caney gas station on Saturday. The patron accepted the suspect’s contact information then turned it over to law enforcement.

Lt. Mark Seals, Cpl. Art Looza and Deputy Ricky Ford arranged a meeting with the suspect that night posing as potential purchasers of the air condition unit. The suspect said he planned to obtain additional air condition units and would have another to choose from the next day if the purchaser wanted a different unit.

The suspect gave deputies his home address where he waited along with two unidentified white males. Deputies approached the residence in an unmarked vehicle and took the suspect into custody without incident.

Taibi is also a person of interest in the thefts of several other air condition units in East Montgomery County.
