Just after 2pm A DPS Trooper attempted to stop a vehicle on traffic on SH 105 east of Cut and Shoot. The vehicle sped up to speeds close to 100 mph and started running on the wrong side of the road. The driver then turned south on South Duck Creek to Old Highway 105. He then continued west back toward Cut and Shoot. Just as he reached SH 105 again a Montgomery County Precinct 4 deputy who heard the call turned onto Old 105 from SH 105. The fleeing driver turned south on Carman and as he attempted to make a left turn at the end of the road the truck spun out and ended up in the ditch.
The vehicle has been identified as a stolen vehicle. The driver who is initially identified as Jose Cruz, 9/2/1994 was taken into custody.
