Reminder: Montgomery & Lake Creek High School’s MCJROTC is still actively fundraising for their program, and they need your support! This year’s annual fundraiser will be held on November 1st at Montgomery High School, where the cadets will march 26.2 miles in memory of the heroes of the Bataan Death March — a powerful and somber chapter of WWII history. In 1942, over 60,000 American and Filipino soldiers were forced to march more than 60 miles under brutal conditions, suffering from exhaustion, starvation, and abuse. Thousands lost their lives, but their courage and resilience have never been forgotten. Our cadets have chosen to honor their sacrifice by taking on this marathon-distance march — not just to raise funds, but to show deep respect, build discipline, and carry forward the legacy of those who gave everything.
