On February 8, 2023, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the Memorial
Hermann Hospital located in the 27800 block of the Northwest Freeway in reference to a disturbance in
the parking lot. Deputies were advised that a suspect took his mother’s car keys and was threatening to
take the vehicle without her permission.
Upon arriving, he refused to comply with verbal commands and resisted. He then kicked a Sergeant
causing him to fall and hit his knee on the concrete causing injuries.
After a brief struggle, deputies utilized a department-issued taser and he was safely detained and
identified as Jared Buckner. He was found to have an open warrant for Assault.
“Jared Buckner was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for his open warrant and charged
with Assault on a Police Officer. His case is assigned to the 263rd District Court and his bond has not
