On March 2, 2023, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the 6100 block of Cypresswood Green Drive in reference to a shooting. Upon arriving, deputies were notified that a six-year-old child was shot in the arm and thigh and was taken to a nearby hospital by his mother. Deputies quickly detained the suspect and identified her as Brittney Sanders. Further investigation revealed she shot at a vehicle after several juveniles were involved in a physical altercation. Inside the vehicle was the 6-year-old child that she shot twice. Brittney Sanders was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Her bond has not been set but her case is assigned to the 248th District
Court.
