HUMBLE, TX– On Monday evening, Humble Police received a report of a man stealing merchandise from Macy’s inside Deerbrook Mall. The Suspect quickly exited the store, got into his vehicle and fled the parking lot of the mall.
Loss prevention employees provided a detailed description of the vehicle and license plate, making it possible for HPD Night Shift A officers to quickly locate the suspect vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated, but the suspect refused to stop, speeding away.
Officers pursued the suspect vehicle until it became disabled when the suspect struck another vehicle. The suspect then fled on foot, jumping off of the freeway and running into a nearby neighborhood.
The determined female officer pursuing the suspect was undeterred by having to jump off of the freeway and chased the suspect into the neighborhood by herself. It didn’t take long for her to catch up to the suspect and place him in custody.
Backup officers arrived shortly after and assisted in returning the suspect back to the scene. The total amount of the theft was approximately $1,500. The suspect is now facing multiple charges.
