SUSPECT WANTED IN SPLENDORA KIDNAPPING

On August 08, 2010, around 2:15 PM Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies and detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to the Cleveland Hospital Emergency Room in reference to the report of the kidnapping of a 14 year old juvenile female from Diamond T Drive Splendora, Montgomery County, Texas.

The 14 year old victim told investigators that she was walking on Diamond T Drive in East Montgomery County when a bluish green Mazda Protege or Honda Civic pulled up and stopped behind her. The driver got out and introduced himself as “Terry” and asked the victim if she would like a ride.

The victim declined the offer for a ride and told investigators that the suspect then grabbed her and forced her into his car and drove to secluded area on East River Drive Splendora, Montgomery County, Texas, where he attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to get away and ran into the woods, then to a nearby roadway where she flagged down a passing motorist for help.

The suspect has been identified as Terry Dale Carnes (WM 11-12-1966) and a warrant for Kidnapping has been issued. Carnes has not been apprehended and is believed to be living in his car and has no permanent residence. Investigators and deputies are actively searching for Carnes but have been unsuccessful in apprehending him.
