On February 24th, 2016 deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 11200 block of Perry Road. Upon arriving deputies located the suspect Jarvis Trevor Hawkins. While speaking with Hawkins, he opened the door to his vehicle and deputies could smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the inside.
Deputies attempted to detain Hawkins, at which time, he began to physically fight deputy Constables and fell thru a plate glass window onto the ground. Hawkins then fled from the scene on foot and was not apprehended.
Constable Mark Herman said, “A deputy involved in the struggle sustained several cuts from the broken glass and was taken to the emergency room for treatment and released. “
A Precinct 4 Narcotic K-9 responded to the scene and alerted on Hawkins vehicle. Inside the vehicle, deputies located 33 grams of Cocaine, 40 grams of Crack Cocaine, 4 ounces of Marijuana, and 15 grams of Ecstasy and a loaded handgun.
Charges were filed and warrants were issued for Hawkins for Assault on a Police Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Evading Arrest. Anyone with information on the location of Jarvis Trevor Hawkins should call the Precinct 4 Constable’s Office or your local Police.
