SWAT CLOSES INDOOR POT OPERATION AND CLEARS SHOOTING CASE

On December 10, 2013, Detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, along with Deputies from the Montgomery County SWAT Team, executed two search warrants in the 21000 block of Dunn Street, in New Caney, Texas. The warrants were in reference to a shooting investigation that occurred in the New Caney area on November 19, 2013.

During the execution of the warrants, evidence from the shooting, as well as two indoor marijuana grow operations were discovered. Approximately 50 marijuana plants and equipment necessary for the cultivation of marijuana was seized.

Detectives arrested Nicholas Wayne Smith, (21 years of age) and Mark Allen Rourke, Jr., (35 years of age), for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon warrants, for their involvement in the shooting that occurred on November 19.

Montgomery County Special Investigation Units arrived at the scene to process the marijuana and grow operations. An investigation in reference to the recovered narcotics and cultivation equipment is ongoing and charges are pending.
