Tuesday evening approximately 6:30 p.m. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call in the 32900 block of Bear Branch near FM 1488 in the Magnolia area. The call was in reference to a man who was upset over a warrant being issued for his arrest over a family violence case that took place prior to Tuesday. A warrant had been issued for him for terroristic threat.
Further information received was that the suspect Charles Williams,47, was walking up and down the street with a weapon. The suspect also stated to family members that he wasted law enforcement officers to kill him.
Patrol deputies responded and set up a perimeter and notified SWAT.
Crisis Negotiators, SWAT and a member of the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene.
Several residents were asked to leave for a short time as a precaution.
Approximately 10:30p.m. deputies assigned to the outer perimeter of the scene spotted the suspect on a wooded trail. Deputies ordered him to stop but the suspect ran into the woods. After a foot chase of approximately 500 yards the suspect was apprehended.
He remains in the Montgomery County Jail on a Charge of Terroristic Threat and evading arrest. which was the original warrant. He is also charged with Evading arrest.
