SPRING, TX— A road rage incident turned violent last Friday, and allegedly escalated into serious vehicle damage (and the wasting of a perfectly good burrito).
Deputies with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the Dollar Tree in the 100 block of East Louetta Road.
Deputies arrived to find the suspect, Arturo Villarreal, who they detained at the scene.
The incident reportedly began with a verbal exchange between Villarreal and another driver. The situation escalated when the complainant allegedly threw a burrito at Villarreal’s vehicle and followed him through the parking lot. Villarreal then turned his vehicle around and, in an apparent act of retaliation, allegedly intentionally rammed it into the complainant’s car, causing significant damage.
“Arturo Villarreal was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon,” Constable Herman said. “His bond was set at $7,500 out of the 179th District Court.”
According to investigators, 59-year-old Villarreal had his one-year-old and 17-year-old granddaughters in the vehicle with him at the time of the altercation.
No injuries were reported, and Child Protective Services was notified due to the presence of minors in the suspect’s vehicle during the alleged incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
