HARRIS COUNTY, TX- On Friday, Deputies with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a vehicle burglary in-progress in the 27200 block of Hwy 290. As they arrived, they saw the suspect vehicle leaving the parking lot, and Deputies initiated a traffic stop. The suspect driver refused to stop, and Deputies initiated a pursuit.
During the pursuit, two passengers in the fleeing vehicle began throwing out tools with an approximate total value of $1,000. The driver eventually stopped, and all three suspects fled from the vehicle, running into a nearby apartment.
With the assistance of Pct. 4 K9 “Tejas Briones” and HPD Air Support, the three suspects were detained and identified. The driver was identified as 18-year-old Danaya Pope and the passengers as 17-year-old Quadarian McClain and a juvenile. All the stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner.
“They were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. Dayana Pope was charged with Evading in Motor Vehicle, Burglary of Motor Vehicle and Theft. Quadarian McClain and the juvenile were charged with Evading Arrest and Detention, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, and Theft. Their bond and court information have not been set at this time,” Constable Mark Herman said.
