ust before 6pm a 15-year-old female was walking down Browder Traylor Road a short time after getting off the school bus. A green Toyota Sequoia was southbound and struck the female, he then veered across the road and through the ditch striking a water meter, trash cans and a fence before coming back up on the roadway. The driver then continued to the Ferrell’s Country Market just down the road at Browder Traylor and Williams Road and walked into the store. Another male walked in and informed him he struck the young lady. DPS currently has the driver detained. MCHD and North Montgomery County Fire Department responded to the scene and started CPR, however, the young lady passed away. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the teen to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. The driver is cooperating with law enforcement at this time. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
