Just after 8 p.m. residents in the 3900 block of San Antonio River Loop in the Creekside Village area of Spring heard what they thought were fireworks. Seconds later a speeding Camaro with loud exhaust left the dead-end street. A short time later they heard sirens and knew it wasn’t fireworks then. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies and Precinct 3 Deputy Constables responded to the reporter disturbance between several older teens and shot being fired. MCHD was notified of a 15-year-male shot in the leg. A general broadcast was put out on the vehicle. Within minutes Montgomery County Precinct 3 Deputy Constables had the vehicle stopped and two males detained at Benders Landing and West Benders Landing. MCHD and South Montgomery County Fire arrived and treated the 15-year-old. He was then transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands. There it was determined it was not life threatening and the leg was sutured up by medical staff. Crime Scene Deputies and Detectives responded to the scene. As most watched the World Series, they worked on investigating the shooting. When they arrived, they found the street littered with blood, a broken watch and at least six shell casings. Detectives worked until just after 1 a.m. interviewing witnesses. According to Montgomery County Detectives on the scene, a fight started between several teens over a female. One of the males who is over 18-years-old produced a pistol and fired at least six shots. It is possible one of the bullets ricochet and hit the younger teen. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office will most likely be accepting deadly conduct charges on the shooter who has only been identified as a young adult.
