The 4-Legged “Mattress Mack” Wasn’t Offering Any Deals…

HARRIS COUNTY, TX– On Wednesday, deputies with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle at Fairbanks N. Houston near Battle Oak Drive. The driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a brief pursuit.

Deputies eventually forced the suspect vehicle to stop, but the driver quickly fled on foot. A police perimeter was set, and with the assistance of Constable K-9 “Mattress Mack” he was apprehended and identified as Durrell Holmes.

Further investigation revealed that he had multiple open warrants, including Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Theft, and Failure to Identify.

“Durrell Hopkins was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading in a Motor Vehicle and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. His court and bond information have not been set at this time,” Constable Mark Herman said.
