THE “JOKERS” ON YOU!!

Just after midnight Tuesday, a Splendora Police officer attempted to stop a black Ford F150 at Buck and I-69. The driver pulled over, then fled at a high rate of speed to SH 242, where he then continued to FM 1485. Once on FM 1485, he traveled north at close to 100 miles per hour. He continued across SH 242 and into the Grangerland area. After passing Old Houston Road, he turned north on Wood Warbler, failing to note the Dead End sign on the signpost. He continued where he ran off the end of the road and into a yard. The driver then fled the truck on foot. A perimeter was set up by Roman Forest, Precinct 4 Constables, Splendora, and Patton Village Officers. A Precinct 4 deputy arrived on the scene and deployed K-9 “Joker”. Joker instantly picked up a trail running north, he jumped a fence on Valley Lane, and within seconds had the suspect’s ankle in his mouth. MCHD responded to the scene to treat the bite. The male, identified as Juan Pablo Moreno Herrera, 24, of 3246 Early Light in Spring, is charged with evading arrest with a vehicle, a third-degree felony. Saddle Creek removed the vehicle from the scene.
