THREE DEAD, ONE INJURED IN SAM HOUSTON CAMPUS CRASH

At 4:50am Saturday Sam Houston State University Campus Police responded to a reported crash on the campus in Huntsville. Units arriving on the scene found a vehicle rolled over after crashing into the Academic IV building in the 1900 block of Avenue I. Three of the occupants of the vehicle were deceased. A fourth, a International Student from The Woodlands was transported to the hospital in critical condition. He has since been transferred to  St. Joseph Medical Center in Bryan in stable condition. His mother and father viewed the scene of the crash and said their son told them he had been a right seat passenger of the vehicle.. He was not sure exactly what happened as he found himself upside down trying to get out of the seatbelt. They said a female friend of his was the driver.

University Officials are not confirming the four were students until next of kin can be notified.

With graduation and ACT testing today the campus was experiencing heavy traffic and the scene was cleared fairly quickly but is expected to be reconstructed.

Sam Houston Police have not released any additional details of the crash.
