Once again, innocent dogs have been at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter as long as they can stay without finding a home. They’re wonderful dogs, but so many people are being irresponsible and / or just bad humans, there are too many homeless dogs. As a result, these dogs will be euthanized on Tuesday if they don’t have a home. There were four, but one found a home Saturday. Three are left, and the shelter is closed Monday.

Roan has been waiting 286 days for a home! He loves toys, knows basic commands, and enjoys being outside. He’s been paired with other dogs but needs proper introductions. Roan has some handling sensitivities—he has attempted to bite when leashing/unleashing and has growled or thrashed during medical workups and nail trims. He needs patient, understanding people to help him build trust.

Miriam has been here since October 23, 2025, winning hearts with her biggest, brightest smile! She has been housed with other dogs and attended playgroups, but she can no longer be safely co-kenneled. She also needs dental work, but that doesn’t stop her from being her happy, lovable self!
