Just after 10 am Wednesday morning Porter Fire Department responded to a tree down through a house in the Porter Heights area. When they arrived they were met by a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy. The mobile home had its bedroom cut in two with a large oak tree and two vehicles in the front totally crushed. Unable to determine if anyone was still inside firefighters called for additional manpower. After an extensive search, it was determined nobody was in the home.
Moments later a neighbor arrived and stated the owner and his son were their bedrooms when the tree came through and crushed the nightstand next to where Mr. Ruiz slept just after 630am. All residents in the home were able to get out uninjured.
The home is a total loss as are their two vehicles.
