Just a quick report to let everyone know that it appears that somewhere in the neighborhood of  5 inches of rain fell in portions of Liberty County today.

This rain has caused the already flooded Trinity River to rise slightly, however, the river  HAS NOT reached the levels previously experienced in this current flood event.

With the rain expected to taper off this evening, the river should begin to stabilize.  Current readings are  37.06 in Romayor, 29.66 in Liberty and 14.5 in Moss Bluff.

The Lake Livingston Dam release remains at 68,200 cubic feet per second and it does not appear that substantial rain has fallen over that watershed today.

All in all,  things should be a bit quieter this evening, but with tropical systems anything can happen so we will watch and update as conditions warrant.
