TRIO BUSTED WITH METH

On Monday, January 8, 2018, Deputies with the Liberty County Criminal Interdiction Unit initiated a traffic stop on a silver Mercury vehicle at the intersection of Alabama Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Liberty, Texas. When the deputy approached the vehicle he noticed a strong odor of Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as Donald Redmond, Jr., DOB: 2/14/1971. The two passengers were identified as Christopher Simien, DOB: 3/20/1989 and Jennifer Chatlin, DOB: 9/5/1972. A probable cause search of the persons and vehicle were made. Suspected “Crystal Meth” and a small amount of Marijuana were found throughout the vehicle. The deputies observed what appeared to be a foreign object protruding from Chatlin’s bra. LCSO female deputies were called to the scene to assist. The female deputies located a large amount of suspected “Crystal Meth” and Crack Cocaine on Chatlin’s person. The drugs appeared to be packaged for resale. The total of the suspected “Crystal Meth” was approximately 16 grams. There were 11 suspected “Crack Rocks”.

All three occupants were arrested and transported to the Liberty County Jail without incident. They were all charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance. The charge is a First Degree Felony.
