Just after 7 pm the driver of a Dodge pickup drove down the inclined driveway at the condos next to the Walden Yacht Club on Lake Conroe. With no barrier the truck hit the parking area and launched into the lake. Residents were able to get into the water, break the window out and pull the man to safety. He was transported to Conroe Regional Trauma Center in stable condition. With the truck some 20-feet from shore, Tow Boats US was called to the scene. A diver was able to locate the truck in 16-feet of water. The work began when the diver had to dig through at least 4-feet of silt to hook the truck to the cables. Using the crane on the boat, they were able to pull the truck onto the deck and move it to the shore where it was loaded on a wrecker. The scene cleared just after 10:30pm. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Cobnstable’s Lake Patrol Division is handling the investigation. They were assisted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
