A Conroe family had a rude awakening around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, when a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 extended cab pickup drove through the brick exterior and into the front bedroom of the home in the 1700 block of South First Street.

Police say the truck was northbound at a high rate of speed when it veered off the roadway and went into the home, with only the rear set and truck bed still outside. Amazingly, none of the six people inside the home were injured.
The driver fled the scene traveling northbound on foot. He was described as a young, thin, Hispanic male, wearing a brown sweater.
Inside the truck was a photograph of a young Hispanic man wearing a cowboy hat and there was a child safety seat in the backseat.
The vehicle is registered to a man who lives on MLK JR. Street in Conroe.
The Conroe Police Department is investigating.
