Early Thursday morning Precinct 4 Deputy Constables Dwayne Morrow and Don Smith both assigned to the livestock division waited patiently as Judge Metts read and signed an order for them to enter the property on Goodson and FM 2090 and seize the twenty four horses.
Withing an hour two trailers from SPCA Houston arrived at the location and started loading the horses. Most were in bad shape, ribs showing, husbandry, behavior issues. The location had been under investigation for some time and warnings were issued to the owners to get the horses in better shape.
After over two hours of loading in the Texas heat three trailers were loaded and the horses were transported to the SPCA Ranch in Waller.
A court date will be set for the owner to face Judge Metts on the issue or turning the horses over to the SPCA. In addition multiple charges of Animal Cruelty could stem from the case.
