TWO ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED THEFT OF AN ATM

On April 28, 2023, just after 3 am, Montgomery County deputies responded to an ATM alarm at the Bank Of America located at 4085 College Park in The Woodlands. While en route deputies were informed that employees of the alarm company were viewing live surveillance feeds of two males attempting to break into the ATM using different tools. The employees also provided a detailed description of the males. Deputies arrived at the bank and discovered the ATM had damage which consisted of pry tool and saw marks. The suspects had already left the immediate area. A perimeter was set up at a nearby wooded area where one male was quickly located lying in the brush to avoid detection. After a brief search in the wooded area with the assistance of an MCSO K-9 unit the second male was found. During the detention of the second male, he resisted deputies and was bitten by the K-9. The suspects, who matched the description provided by the alarm company, were identified as 61-year-old Ricky Garcia, of 2518 Fulton in Houston, and 37-year-old Lazaro  Martinez Garcia

. Both were booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a charge of theft of less than $300,000 ATM.
