Chris Sutton a Conroe ISD Police Officer was arrested today for Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student. Sutton, who has been with the district for 9 years in the capacity of sergeant resigned February 17 when CISD became aware of possible charges against him.
Sutton is accused of engaging in sexual contact with a male student from Caney Creek High School on or about August 23, 2012. Sutton and the adult male student knew each other for a period of time and on August 23, Sutton picked the male student up at a church function in the Woodlands area. It was then the student realized it was Sutton he had been chatting with on a male homosexual site called “Grinder”. The pair went to a park off SH 242 and and engaged in sexual contact. This happened several times from August until February 17, both at that park and Carl Barton Park on Loop 336 in Conroe. It also took place at an undisclosed residence.
Sutton admitted to the acts to CISD Chief William Harness in a February 17 meeting This meeting, the result of the incident being investigated by two detectives assigned to the case.
Chief William Harness said, “These charges are serious and the safety and well being of our students remains our highest priority. The district is working closely with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and the City of Conroe Police Department.in the investigation.”
Sutton who as a supervisor has access to all CISD campuses normally works in the Woodlands area.
Sutton also serves as the coordinator of leadership programs, including the Police Departments Kid’s Chat program and the P.A.L.S. program as well as other activities.
