TWO CRITICALLY INJURED IN CRASH ON US 59

Just after 10:00p.m. Tuesday night a Honda Civic running northbound on US 59 at a high rate of speed passed witnesses on the inside left shoulder then made an abrupt change of direction crossing all lanes of the freeway. The vehicle continued across the grassy median and the feeder. Once it crossed the feeder it struck the control box which powers the over head illumination lights for the freeway. The vehicle continued across East Hammond Road tearing the stop sign and one-way sign completely out of the ground. At that point it started to flip ejecting one black male ion his twenties out. The second black male  who was also in his 20’s was trapped in the vehicle. Porter Fire Department responded and cut the roof off the vehicle to remove the victim,.

One of the victims who was in  critical condition was taken by MCHD to Hermann Hospital in Houston. The second victim was transported to Hermann Hospital in Houston by Life Flight. Both were in critical condition.

It is still undetermined who the driver of the two were. There were no seatbelts worn.

  1. Swatz you are so right. I have heard of people having seizures or heart attacks while driving also, you don’t hear about it as often as you do other factors.

  2. While I’m pretty cynical, and agree with clh2691, I do try to remember it could possibly medical, or worse, fear. My ex almost crashed the car because of a spider once. I’ve seen accidents from heart attacks and seizures before.
I guess the good news is it was a single car accident, and the child wasn’t in the car.

  3. Need to find out why they were driving like that, if the cops weren’t after them…Sounds like they were up to no good …. or on some serious drugs. Either way, stupid stupid
