At about 4:30 pm North Montgomery County Fire was dispatched to a reported major accident on SH 105 East just east of FM 1485. Units arrived on the scene to find two critical patients, both of which were entrapped. Firefighters were able to cut the victims out. A male in the Chevrolet Avalanche was the most critical with a leg injury causing excessive blood loss and requiring a tourniquet to stop the bleeding. The female in the Tahoe was also critical but stable. DPS worked the crash. Early investigation showed that the female driving the Tahoe was eastbound on SH 105 and had been driving erratically. She made what appeared to be a u-turn in the middle of SH 105. The driver of the Avalanche had no time to react and slammed into the driver’s door of the Tahoe. SH 105 was closed for over an hour backing up artery routes extensively.
