TWO GRIMES COUTNY DEPUTIES CRITICALLY INJURED AFTER PURSUIT AND CRASH

On August 26, 2021, just after 1 am Grimes County Deputies (two-man unit) attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a grey Dodge pickup when the driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, failed to yield. A short vehicle pursuit ensued on West Johnson Ave within the city limits of Anderson, Grimes County, Texas. As the suspect rounded a curve on a hill in a wooded section of the road he jumped out and fled on foot. As the deputies topped the hill and rounded the curve they slammed into the blacked-out abandon pickup.  The suspect, who was later identified as Cole Miller Reynolds, a 19 year of age male, fled the crash location on foot. The two Deputies suffered serious injuries and one had to be extricated from the vehicle by Fire Department personnel. The two Deputies were transported to CHI St Joseph’s Regional Emergency Room by Air Medical. Reynolds was captured shortly after 6 am on County Road 185. The two Deputies remain in the care of St Joseph’s ER in stable but serious condition.
