TWO MORE PATROL CARS DESTROYED BY INTOXICATED DRIVERS

Overnight, two Harris County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicles were struck by suspected impaired drivers. Members of the HCSO were assisting with traffic control outside a large public event, at FM-1960 Rd E and Belleau Wood (Humble). A Sgt. was in the vehicle when her vehicle was rear-ended. The driver of the striking vehicle showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for DWI. The Sgt. was taken to an urgent care clinic for minor injuries and has since been released. While the scene was being investigated, a second driver struck the rear of another (unoccupied) HCSO patrol vehicle. That driver also showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for DWI.
