HISD says another student in the Tuesday morning school bus crash has died. The two deceased students are girls. The other two students, who are critically injured, are boys. The driver was also transported to the hospital.

South Loop 610 eastbound at Telephone Road – Main lanes and feeder remain closed following a deadly HISD bus crash around 7 a.m. and are expected to remain so for an extended period of time.
The bus was on the main lanes of Loop 610 when it was involved in a 4-vehicle crash, sending the bus over the guardrail and onto the feeder below. One person is confirmed dead. HISD says the deceased is a female student and three others have been transported to area hospitals along with the bus driver.

HISD Police investigate major bus accident
One student was killed and three others were seriously injured this morning when an HISD school bus crashed at the 610 Loop and Telephone Road.
The bus was bound for Furr High School and was carrying four students, including a female who did not survive the crash, which occurred around 7 a.m. Three other students and the driver have been taken to multiple hospitals. Preliminary indications are that all of those who survived the crash suffered injuries. Further information about their conditions is not available at this time.
Furr High School is also home to REACH Charter High School and it is unclear at this time whether the students attend Furr or REACH.
The accident is under investigation by Houston ISD Police and Houston PD.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragedy and the loss of one of our students,” said HISD Superintendent Terry Grier. “I ask all of the HISD community to join me in praying for all of those involved.”
