UPDATE ON HIT AND RUN FATAL CRASH ON FM 1485

On Friday, February 7th, 2025, at approximately 4AM an Sean Hicks male was riding his bicycle while pulling a small trailer-like setup behind him which was occupied by John Goff, traveling in a general east direction within the far-right shoulder for eastbound travel in the curve of FM 1485 near Huffman-Cleveland Road (dead-mans curve) . At the same time, an unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on FM 1485 Road and failed to drive in a single lane and struck the rear of the trailer and bicycle with its front right. The vehicle, believed to possibly be a red truck, kept going. Hicks attempted to flag several vehicles down and was finally successful. Harris County Deputies arrived on the scene. A search was started for Goff who had been in the trailer. He was found at about 7 am with no signs of life victim was found on-scene with no signs of life due to injuries he sustained from this crash and was pronounced deceased at 715am by emergency medical professionals. At the time of the crash, this area of the roadway was dark and not properly lit with any artificial lights. There was no sidewalk or crosswalk in the general area of the crash. There were no other witnesses to the crash. This case remains open and under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
