Sunday afternoon, two people died after a rollover wreck near Madisonville.
The wreck happened on Interstate 45, north of the intersection of Highway 21 around 4 p.m.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said an SUV travelling northbound on Interstate 45 with several people rolled several times after a right rear tire blew out.
Department of Public Safety troopers said there was a total of 8 people in the SUV.
Two people were ejected.
Gerardo del Alba and Iris S. Llanas were sitting in the third row of the vehicle and were killed.
Two children, 7 year-old Aaron Suarez and Jorge Suarez Jr., were taken by St. Joseph Air Medical and PHI to Memorial Hermann hospital in Houston. Authorities say Aaron sustained skull and spine injuries in the crash. Jorge Jr. was last listed in stable condition.
Jorge L. Suarez, David Suarez, and Sandra Llanas were transported to St. Joseph in Bryan.
DPS said the individuals who were ejected suffered major injuries because they were not wearing seat belts.
According to DPS, the driver of the vehicle was Juan Jara-Reyes of Houston.
