Just after 7:30 p.m. Deputy Skero with the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Office was on the side of Crockett-Martin Road just north of the railroad tracks issuing a motorist a citation for speeding.
As he looked up a Pontiac Grand Am approached at a high rate of speed and immediately after crossing the railroad tracks slammed into the rear of the patrol car.
Jacob Tyler Sweeten, 20., a Woodlands High School student who lives at 13710 Pinehurst Lane in Magnolia was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
This weekend is a No Refusal weekend and since the driver refused a breathalyzer a warrant was issued for a mandatory blood draw.
The patrol unit which was hit in the right rear corner was still drivable.
The speed limit on Crockett-Martin is 40 mph in that area.
Jacob Sweeten has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated.
Back on May 26, 2012 he was arrested for DWI also. On July 11, 2012 it was dismissed. According to court documents the charge could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
