UPDATE ON WOODLANDS ROBBERIES

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investing two incidents that occurred in the early morning hours on July 29, 2011.

On June 29, 2011, at approximately 5:00 AM, deputies met with two male contractors for AT&T at the Sheriff’s Office Substation in The Woodlands. The victims told deputies that they were repairing fiber optic cable inside a box truck in the area of Grogan’s Mill Drive and Sawdust Road around 4:15 AM when two suspects with bandannas covering their faces entered the truck and pointed handguns at them. The suspects took the victim’s cell phones, keys and wallets and one victim was punched in the face. The suspects fled in a midsized silver SUV. The victims said that one suspect was a Hispanic male and the other was a black male.

The same morning around 4:40 AM deputies met with a 57 year old male who reported that as he was retrieving a gym bag from inside his vehicle in the 24 Hour Fitness parking lot on Lake Woodlands in The Woodlands, two black males dressed in black clothing and ski masks approached him.  One suspect had a handgun and forced the victim to lie on the ground. The suspects took the victim’s wallet, cell phone and gym bag and left in an older model passenger car driving away west on Lake Woodlands Drive.
