DPS Troopers are just finishing the initial investigation of a head-on fatal crash on East Martin at Wayne in Porter. At 9:20 pm calls started coming in reporting the crash. Witnesses say the Acura passenger vehicle was traveling east on East Martin at a high rate of speed with no headlights when the 34-year-old male driver struck a 2021 Ford F-350 pickup. The impact pushed the pickup backward over twenty feet. MCHD and Porter Fire worked on the male driver but were unable to save him. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
